Relockers can be found on some safes as a special feature. This blog explains what they are, and how it can improve the security of your safe. 

A relocker is a glass or mechanical device that, when activated, discharges spring-loaded bolts into the safe’s opening mechanism, blocking access to the safe immediately. Glass re-lockers sit behind the grey steel plate of the safe. In situations where the glasses are shattered as a result of a forceful attempt to break in, the re lockers are discharged into the safe’s bolt action. 

As we all understand, the safe’s lock serves as a locking mechanism, whether it is a key lock, digital lock, combination lock or fingerprint scanning lock. The handle serves as an opening mechanism. The relocker on the safe will engage if the lock is compromised by physical manipulation. As a result, the door will not open. It will, in fact, never reopen. The safe becomes impenetrable once the re-lockers are activated. If Criminals continue to try to break in, it would produce large amounts of noise, and even produce poisonous vapour in some cases. This would ensure the safety of your assets stored within. 

The chance of breaking into a safe with the relocker function activated is very slim, and in most cases, the Criminal would give up and leave the safe. To get access to your safe again, you can call a professional safecracker to reopen the safe and service the safe to its best state.
